Planning
An Islamic funeral is believed to be a very spiritual occasion. One significant funeral rite in the Islamic faith is that burial takes place as quickly as possible after death. Therefore making arrangements with family and/or the IAC beforehand gives you time to consider all of your options and make sure that you’re covering all of the necessary details. Additional information on Islamic will preparation are available.
Ghusl Al-Mayyit
Upon the subsequent release of the deceased, a funeral attendant will transport the deceased to the Masjid where ghusl al-mayyit is performed prior to Al-Kaffan.

Janazah
The funeral prayer is led by the Imam or a family member of the deceased. It is performed without an Athan or an Iqamah. It contains four takberat and does not include any Ruko’ or Sujood.
We strive to offer these services at affordable prices and to adhere to the highest moral and ethical standards and to serve all cultures while staying faithful to Islam teachings. For questions regarding pricing, please contact us.
General Cemetery Policies
- Burials in caskets are not permitted in Islamic funerals.
- Headstones are prepared and installed by Masjid Al-Tawheed.
- Sunnah prohibits anything from being placed in or on the grave including plants or flowers. Any alterations made to the grave will be removed.

Family, friends, and community members of all faiths are welcome at the funeral service held at the masjid.
Muslims believe it is a rewarding effort to attend and participate in a funeral. Thus it’s not unusual for Muslims to attend the funeral of someone they don’t know.
“Every being on earth is bound to perish. Only you Lord Himself, full of Majesty and Honor, will remain forever.” – Surah Ar-Rahman – 26 – 30
